3D Stereo Viewing

eDrawings 2021 SP5 is the last release to support the option, 3D Stereo Viewing, in Tools > Options > General. 3D Stereo Viewing is only supported with NVIDIA^® 3D Vision. Refer to the End of Life FAQ for NVIDIA 3D Vision.

Graphics Boost Option

eDrawings 2021 SP5 is the last release to support the option, Best appearance, including reflections, in Tools > Options > General.

macOS Sierra (10.12)

eDrawings 2019 SP5 is the last release to support macOS^® Sierra (10.12).

Microsoft Windows 7 SP1, 64-Bit Operating System

SOLIDWORKS 2020 SP5 is the last release to support the Microsoft Windows^® 7 Operating System.

SOLIDWORKS 2021 products will not install on Windows 7.

Microsoft Windows 7 mainstream support ended January 13, 2015. By exception, SOLIDWORKS 2018-2020 support is extending into Microsoft’s Extended Support period, which ends on January 14, 2020. These requirements apply to all SOLIDWORKS products.

Microsoft Windows 8.1, 64-Bit Operating System

SOLIDWORKS 2018 SP5 is the last release to support the Windows 8.1 64-bit operating system.

SOLIDWORKS 2019 products will not install on Windows 8.1.

Antivirus Software

Some antivirus software prevents proper installation of SOLIDWORKS. For additional information, see Antivirus.

DVD Distribution Media

Beginning with SOLIDWORKS 2021, customers who have requested DVD upgrade shipments will receive three DVDs.

Functionality

Properties Tool

The Properties tool is renamed to Mass Properties.

Virtual Reality

File > Open in VR is not supported on virtual machines.
