The option to check for updates is available for individual installations. To specify frequency of checks, select Check for Updates every ___ days, and provide a value.
You must be connected to
the Internet when the check is performed.
If an update is found at the scheduled time, you are notified the next time you run certain products like SolidWorks or eDrawings.
For administrative image installations, upgrades are managed by administrators.
Service packs are available for subscription customers.
To manually check for updates to SolidWorks after installation:
Start the Installation Manager by doing one of the following:
In the SolidWorks application, click Help, Check for Updates.
In Windows, click Start, SolidWorks Installation Manager, Check For Updates.
The screen that displays tells you whether or not updates are available.
If updates are available, choose whether or not to download and install them.
To configure SolidWorks to automatically check for updates:
Start the Installation Manager as described above.
If automatic update checks have not been scheduled, select Check for Updates every __ days and specify the frequency of checks.
To change the frequency of checks, change the Check for Updates value.
For individual installations, when you finish the installation process, a document describing new functionality in SolidWorks and its add-in products appears.
For administrative image installations, the document appears on client computers when they complete their installations.
