Choose the SolidWorks settings to use.
Use SolidWorks 2008 default settings. The default settings are the settings for new users.
Use a settings file exported from the Copy Settings Wizard. If you used the Copy Settings Wizard to save a settings file from a previous SolidWorks installation, you can browse to the file so the new installation uses those settings for keyboard shortcuts, menu customization, and so forth.
To save settings from an installed version of SolidWorks:
In Windows, click Start,
All Programs, SolidWorks <version>,
SolidWorks Tools, Copy Settings Wizard
.
Select Save Settings and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note the location and name (.sldreg) of the saved file.
Select the method for the client installation:
Create a new installation of SolidWorks. Any existing installations are not changed.
Upgrade the most recent existing installation of SolidWorks. The most recent version of SolidWorks installed on the computer is upgraded to the latest version of SolidWorks.
Products other than core SolidWorks may be upgraded or installed new, depending on their version. See Product Coexistence Rules.
