Installation

Reactivating DraftSight Perpetual Licenses

Starting with DraftSight 2022, customers who have purchased perpetual licenses will be required to reactivate their licenses once a year. The licenses never expire but need to be reactivated periodically regardless of whether or not customers remain on subscription. Term licenses are not affected.

Reactivation applies to DraftSight 2022 stand-alone products but not to earlier versions.

Reactivation applies to SolidNetWork License products after an organization has updated to the 2022 License Manager. Even if the installed products are from an earlier release, the 2022 licenses on the server will require reactivation once a year.

Inactivity Behavior Set for SolidNetWork License Installations of DraftSight

Starting with DraftSight 2023, SolidNetWork License (SNL) installations follow inactivity behavior defined on the license server consistent with other SOLIDWORKS SNL products. Previously, this option was specified in DraftSight by the end user on the client.

This change aligns DraftSight Enterprise, DraftSight Enterprise Plus, and DraftSight Mechanical with SOLIDWORKS SNL products. Any previous timeout defined in DraftSight will be overruled by the license server.

SNL customers can configure the timeout using a FlexNet options file. For details, see SolidNetWork_License_Manager_install_dir\Docs\flexuser\licensingenduserguide.pdf.

Dassault Systèmes License Server (DSLS) installations are unchanged.

Technical Alerts

DraftSight Mechanical supports the mechanical entities that are saved in DWG files up to version 2021.
