SOLIDWORKS PDM 2019 SP5 is the last release to support SOLIDWORKS PDM Web client. SOLIDWORKS PDM 2020 products will not support Web client. You can use SOLIDWORKS PDM Web2 to access PDM via web browser.
SOLIDWORKS 2019 SP5 is the last release to support SOLIDWORKS Explorer as a stand-alone application. The supported functions such as Pack and Go, Rename, Replace, and Move are available in file shortcut menus in Windows Explorer.

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2020 SP5 is the last release to support the Windows® 7 Operating System. SOLIDWORKS PDM 2021 and later version products will not install on Windows 7.

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2018 SP5 is the last release to support the Windows® 8.1 64-bit operating system. SOLIDWORKS PDM 2019 products will not install on Windows 8.1.
SOLIDWORKS PDM 2019 SP5 is the last release to support the Windows Server® 2012 R2 operating system. SOLIDWORKS PDM 2020 products will not install on Windows Server 2012 R2.
SOLIDWORKS PDM 2018 SP5 is the last release to support the Windows Server® 2012 operating system. SOLIDWORKS PDM 2019 products will not install on Windows Server 2012.
SOLIDWORKS PDM 2020 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft® Excel 2013 and Word 2013.
SOLIDWORKS PDM 2018 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft® Excel 2010 and Word 2010.
SOLIDWORKS PDM 2021 SP5 is the last release to support SQL Server® 2014.
SOLIDWORKS PDM 2019 SP5 is the last release to support SQL Server® 2012.
Beginning with SOLIDWORKS 2021, customers who have requested DVD upgrade shipments will receive three DVDs.
You can have only one SOLIDWORKS Manage client installation on a machine. Installing a SOLIDWORKS Manage 2021 client will remove earlier versions.
The installation package of SOLIDWORKS PDM 2019 and later do not include the installation of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). To download SSMS, see Download SQL Server Management Studio.
To modify an installation of SOLIDWORKS PDM Server and its components, use Programs and Features from the Windows Control Panel. You cannot modify the installation with SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager (SLDIM), even if that is what you used to install SOLIDWORKS PDM Server.
Microsoft SQL Server® 2019 is supported beginning with SOLIDWORKS 2020 and SOLIDWORKS PDM 2020.
Starting with SOLIDWORKS PDM 2017, the service pack for SOLIDWORKS PDM client can be different from the service pack for SOLIDWORKS PDM server as long as they are the same major version.
SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional 2021 supports SOLIDWORKS 2021, 2020, and 2019. SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard 2021 supports SOLIDWORKS 2021 only. The combination of a newer version of SOLIDWORKS and an older version of SOLIDWORKS PDM is not supported.
