Microsoft Word 2019, Excel 2019, and PowerPoint 2019

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2023 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft® Word 2019, Excel 2019, and PowerPoint 2019.

Microsoft Word 2016, Excel 2016, and PowerPoint 2016

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2023 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft Word 2016, Excel 2016, and PowerPoint 2016.

Microsoft SQL Server 2019

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2026 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft SQL Server® 2019.

Microsoft SQL Server 2017

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2024 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft SQL Server 2017.

Microsoft SQL Server 2016

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2023 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft SQL Server 2016.

Microsoft Windows Server 2019

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2025 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft Windows Server® 2019.

Microsoft Windows Server 2016

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2023 SP5 is the last release to support Microsoft Windows Server 2016.

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2024 products will not install on Microsoft Windows Server 2016.

Microsoft Windows 10

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2025 SP5 is the last release to support the Microsoft Windows® 10 operating system.

System Requirements

  • SOLIDWORKS PDM 2023 and later require Microsoft Edge WebView2 on archive servers and client machines.
  • Install Microsoft ODBC driver 17.3 or later for SQL Server on the client and servers.
  • To ensure successful installation and optimum performance, see SOLIDWORKS and SW Data Management System Requirements.
  • SOLIDWORKS PDM 2024 and later requires Cumulative Update 22 or higher when using SQL Server 2019.
  • SOLIDWORKS PDM 2025 requires the SolidNetWork License (SNL) Manager 2025 to manage licenses.

Installation

Single Installation of SOLIDWORKS Manage Client

You can have only one SOLIDWORKS Manage client installation on a computer. Installing a SOLIDWORKS Manage 2025 client removes earlier versions.

SQL Server Management Studio

The installation package of SOLIDWORKS PDM does not include the installation of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). To download SSMS, see Download SQL Server Management Studio.

Modifying SOLIDWORKS PDM Server Installations

To modify an installation of SOLIDWORKS PDM Server and its components, use Programs and Features from the Windows Control Panel. You cannot modify the installation with SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager (SLDIM), even if that is what you used to install SOLIDWORKS PDM Server.

Reactivating SolidNetWork License Products

Reactivate SolidNetWork License products once a year even if the licensed products are from an earlier release.

Functionality

Microsoft SQL Server 2022

Microsoft SQL Server 2022 is supported beginning with SOLIDWORKS PDM 2023 SP02.

Microsoft SQL Server 2019

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2024 and later requires Cumulative Update 22 or higher when using SQL Server 2019.

Compatibility with SOLIDWORKS PDM Products

SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional 2025 supports SOLIDWORKS 2025, 2024, and 2023. SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard 2025 supports SOLIDWORKS 2025 only. The combination of a newer version of SOLIDWORKS and an older version of SOLIDWORKS PDM is not supported.

DraftSight

Starting with SOLIDWORKS PDM 2024, the major version of SOLIDWORKS PDM and DraftSight® must be the same. Previous major versions are not supported.
