Technical Alerts

Windows 10 Fonts Missing

Some fonts that shipped in prior versions of Windows have moved into optional features in Windows 10. When upgrading to Windows 10, these fonts may not be installed on your system. If you find that a SOLIDWORKS document uses a font that is no longer installed on your computer, refer to Microsoft Knowledge base article 3083806.

Microsoft Office Documents Embedded in SOLIDWORKS Documents

If you use Windows® 7 64-bit version, you should install Microsoft Hotfix KB 983396 This fixes problems when trying to embed Microsoft® Office 97-2003 Compatible Format documents into SOLIDWORKS documents. This applies to all installed versions of Microsoft Office.

Full-Round Fillets

When the first and last selections are planar faces and the geometry between them is symmetrical, the resulting full-round fillet is symmetrical, even if the faces are drafted.

Service Pack 5.0

If you use the option, Round half to even, in Tools > Options > Document Properties > Units, the dimensions that appear in the graphics area are incorrect. However, the actual dimensions in the model are correct. Only the dimension display is incorrect.

It is recommended that you only use Round half to even on individual dimensions where the rounding method is needed, instead of setting it in the Options dialog box. You can do this in the Dimension PropertyManager on the Other tab. Under Override Units, clear Use document method and select Round Half to Even in the list.

Service Pack 4.0
