The SolidWorks Admin Director Option Editor (available after you create an administrative image) lets you assign products and serial numbers to users and groups. The resulting information is stored in an XML file.
To access the Option Editor:
Double-click <admin_image_folder>\sldim\sldadminoptioneditor.exe.
Users and groups control access to products.
You create users:
To assign products and serial numbers that are specific to the user
So that the user can be made a member of a group
You create groups to assign the same product access to multiple users. You can assign multiple serial numbers for License Activation to groups.
To add a user:
In the SolidWorks Admin Director Option Editor, click Add User.
In the Add User dialog box, type a User Name and Display Name.
Optionally, type serial numbers for products the user can run.
Click Next.
In the Select Products dialog box, expand the available products and check the products the user can run. If you want the users access to be controlled by group membership, do not select any products.
Click Finish.
To add a group:
In the SolidWorks Admin Director Option Editor, click Add Group.
In the Add Group dialog box, type a name for the group.
Optionally, type serial numbers for products the group can run.
In the Members list, select the users to be members of the group.
Click Next.
In the Select Products dialog box, expand the available products and check the products the group can run.
Click Finish.
You can modify the contact information for automated activation.
To modify contact information:
In the SolidWorks Admin Director Option Editor, click Modify Auto Activation File.
In the Contact Information dialog box, change the information as needed.
