License Client Installation

When you install the SolidWorks software on the license clients, the serial number identifies the computer as an SNL client, which prompts the SNL client install dialog box. Type the license server's address to connect the client to the server.

If a computer already has SolidWorks installed and you are switching to SNL licensing, you can manually install the license client by running the license server installation, using the network license serial number.

You must install the license server prior to installing a license client.

To install a license client:

  1. Initiate the installation.

  2. Enter the network license serial number, and click Next.

  3. On the next screen, select Administrative Image and Server products.

  4. Select Install SolidNetWork License Server (distributed licensing) on this computer, and click Next.

  1. Follow the on-screen directions in the SolidNetWork License Administrator. During the installation, the SolidNetWork License File Wizard appears. Under Server Information, click Add.

  1. In the Add Server dialog box, type the license server's address in the form:

<port@ComputerName>

The port number must be the same one used for the server. The default is 25734 as described in License Server Installation.

  1. Continue the on-screen directions.

To install a license client silently:

See Command Line Deployment.

To install an application and license client:
