If your computer uses a firewall, set up the ports as follows:
Firewall software. With Internet firewall software, you must add two ports to your firewall exceptions list. See your system administrator.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2003 SP1. If you use Windows Firewall, you must modify ports on the license server and modify the license file to distribute the licenses to client computers.
To modify ports on the license server:
In Windows, open the Control Panel and double-click Security Center.
Click Windows Firewall.
On the Exceptions tab, click Add Port.
In the Add a Port dialog box, type a Name (for example, SNL-inport) and your Port Number (for example, 25734), then click OK.
For the second port, repeat from step 3 (for example, Name SNL-outport and Port Number 25735), then click OK. You reference this port number in sw_d.lic in the next procedure.
If you use the PDMWorks Workgroup application, you
must modify PDMWorks Workgroup port numbers in the Windows
Firewall dialog box. Typically,
the ports are 20000 (VaultAdmin),
30000 (Data),
40000 (Request),
and 80 (Viewer).
Close the Windows Security Center and the Control Panel dialog boxes.
To modify the license file:
In Windows, click Start, All Programs, SolidWorks <version>, SolidWorks SolidNetWork License Manager, SolidNetWork License Administrator.
On the Server Administration tab, under License Server, click Stop, then Yes to confirm.
Under License File, click Modify, then click Next.
In the dialog box:
Select A firewall is in use on this server.
Leave the Port Number and Vendor Daemon Port Number at their default values, or type the port numbers entered during the procedure above.
Click Next, then click Finish.
In the SolidNetWork License Administrator dialog box, under License Server, click Start.
Click OK twice.
