The quality and performance of graphics can depend on the choice of graphics adapter and driver version. To help you avoid known graphics adapter and driver version specific problems, SolidWorks has tested several commonly used graphics adapters and driver combinations. The current list of tested adapters and drivers is available at http://www.solidworks.com/pages/services/VideoCardTesting.html.
Using eDrawings 2005 with a graphics adapter and driver version combination from the recommended list will ensure optimum graphics quality and performance. In several cases, using a different graphics adapter and driver version combination results in serious display problems and in some cases causes instability problems.
To correct any graphics issues, use the software OpenGL option under Tools, Options.
Installing Multiple versions of eDrawings.
For SolidWorks : The eDrawings version corresponding to the SolidWorks version should be installed to use the Publish or Animate functionality in SolidWorks. For example, eDrawings 2005 should be installed for integrating with SolidWorks 2005. Other versions of eDrawings installed on the same machine are not integrated with SolidWorks. However, you can continue to use those versions as standalone installations and the Save As *.eprt/*.easm/*.edrw functionality in SolidWorks is still available.
For AutoCAD : The last installed version of eDrawings integrates with AutoCAD.
Virus warning message. You may receive a virus warning message when you download eDrawings. This happens because anti-virus software on your machine detects that the installation calls a local executable on your machine. You get this warning when you install any program that uses Windows Installer, such as eDrawings. The eDrawings application does not contain any viruses. We recommend you temporarily disable your anti-virus program before you install eDrawings, otherwise, some DLLs and registry settings may not be implemented correctly. Once you have installed eDrawings you should re-activate your anti-virus program.
Broken and perspective views created in SolidWorks drawings will not be shaded in eDrawings.
If your printer experiences 'Out of Memory' errors when printing from eDrawings, click Troubleshoot in the Print dialog box. If you cannot resolve the printer problem, report the problem to Technical Support at support@eDrawingsViewer.com.
eDrawings now supports Hebrew annotations and markups in models and drawings.
Tablet PCs. If you have the Tablet XP operating system without Service Pack 2, markup may not work correctly if you launch eDrawings directly from the installation. Install the Tablet XP operating system Service Pack 2 to fix this issue.
Detail and cropped views created in SolidWorks drawing files are now clipped properly in eDrawings. All polygonal clipping areas are supported.
The eDrawings API now allows users to query mass properties (mass, volume, density, and surface area) and the material name for the current configuration.
Service Pack Information. The eDrawings application no longer shows Service Pack or other point release information in desktop icons, pull-down menus, or tooltips. Only major release information is shown in these areas. For example, only eDrawings 2005 appears, not eDrawings 2005 Service Pack 1. For Service Pack or point release information, click Help, About eDrawings.
For help with eDrawings or eDrawings Professional, contact your local reseller. If you have not purchased the software from a reseller, email Technical Support at support@eDrawingsViewer.com.
